Happy New Year and Resolution

Happy New Year!!ヾ(＠°▽°＠)ﾉ

I am very pleasure to celebrate this new year with you.

Reminding the last year of 2010, many things come to my mind.

I started some things including preparing for application to MBA courses such as IELTS (I got only OA6.0・・・).

In addition, I obtained new acquaintances as cohorts trying to apply for MBA through internet.

I thank some aggressive friends for planing the closing year party with MBA challenging cohorts.

I also appriciate internet instruments including Twitter,Facebook and blogs to bind us.

Coming fall, I shall apply to some MBA courses so I need to obtain enough score of IELTS and GMAT to apply the business schools which I want to enroll.

For the goal. I shall study English more intensively than 2010 and control my time and schedule well.

In January, I will take (4th) IELTS and target OA 7.0.

I am not good at listening and speaking sections, so I must consider to improve these skills.

It will be very difficult for me to enhance the skills but I believe that I can overcome and achieve the objective score.

To my short-term goal, there are many hardles and big stonewalls but I expect myself to write "I could overcome all of my hardles" on the same day in the next year with good status(if possible, I want to hold some offers).

虎とウサギ

あけましておめでとうございます。
ご存じのとおり、ことしはウサギ年。
自宅でウサギと暮らしている私としてはちょっと嬉しい年でもあります。
私にとって、昨年はいろいろな変化や挑戦があった始まりの年でした。
だから昨年の干支の虎にも感謝したいと思います。
ということで、今回は虎とウサギのお話をご紹介し、バトンタッチとしようと思います。
・一念巌をも通ず
前漢・武帝の時代、漢は北方の匈奴の戦いが続いていましたが、その中で一人の勇将を得ました。
飛将軍との異名を持つ李広という武将です。
李広は武勇、とりわけ弓術に優れ、また人望が厚かったのでよく戦功をたてました。
その人望の厚さから「桃李言わざれども下自ずから蹊を成す」という言葉の語源ともなっています。
さて、その李広がある日狩りに出た時に虎に出くわしました。
いざっ、と彼が矢を放つと、その矢は見事目標に突き刺さりました。
しかし、近寄って確認してみると、それは虎ではなくただの岩でした。
ためしに矢を放ってみると、岩に刺さることはありませんでした。
ここから冒頭の「一念巌をも通ず」という言葉が生まれました。
すなわち、念じて気合を入れればすごいことができるというイメージです。
この故事はいろいろなものに通じる真理として、今でも広く使われています。
・はじめは処女のごとく、後には脱兎のごとし
はずかしながら、ウサギの故事というのはなかなか思い浮かびませんでした。
その中で記憶を引っ掻き回して思い出した言葉が、この「はじめは処女のごとく、後には脱兎のごとし」。
この言葉は、中国の兵法書「孫子」にあります。
すなわち、戦いの臨むにあたっては、最初は清純な女性のように弱弱しく（？）振る舞い、油断させた後に本気を出して機敏に動く、ということです。
例えば、サッカーの試合で特に各上の相手と対戦するとき、前半は弱弱しくもなんとか防いで油断させて体力を温存し、後半で一気に本気を見せる、というような感じでしょうか。
もちろん、ビジネスの交渉や恋愛の駆け引きでも使えるかもしれません。
このほかにも孫子にはいろいろな名言が詰め込まれていて、その考え方は世界中で受け入れられています。
先日中国が孔子平和賞なるものを作ったそうですが、一番世界に広まっている中国の思想はむしろ孫子なのかもしれません。

confirmation about essay topics

Today, I confirmed the essay issues of Manchester Business School which I want to enroll the most.


They seemed to let us think ourselves very deeply, hence it may be very difficult but also interesting.


I will mull over the topics in this holidays and try to make drafts.

comment about IELTS score from a friend

Just before now, I had told with ex co-worker in the company to which I belonged previously.


He said that OA6.5 of IELTS is regarded as a enough score to fuifill a condition to study abroad from a comment of his colleague(a professor).


So I regret that I could get only 6.0. If I had had a better score, I will show my score with a condident attitude.


I will take IELTS soon and expect to get over 6.5. I believe that I will overcome the hardle because I was given much energy in the party with MBA applicants.

start to write blog in English

Yestaday,I attended a year end party in which many MBA applicants participate.

In the party,I was very stimulated to study English and make a progress of applications because most perticipants have prepared for their applications so much (even though some of them plan to apply for class of 2014).

I took part in the first and second stage of the party, and I talked with some persons.

They already had a good TOEFL score and taught me the way to improve English skill and score.

I respected them not only for their scores but for their efforts and I thought that I should study English hard.

One of them said that habit to write diary or blog in English is very useful to enhance our English level, therefore I decided to write some articles in English.

I heard that the next party will be held in summer, and I expect myself to report that I will have enough score to apply due to this effort.

MBAアプリカント忘年会

昨日は多くの会社が仕事納めの日だったようです（東証が開いているので証券業界は30日までです・・・）。

だから、というわけでもないかもしれませんが、昨日MBAアプリカント忘年会が開催されていて、Twitterを通じてお誘いがあったので参加させていただきました。

20名以上の方が参加されていたようで、多くの方と名刺交換させていただきました。

名刺交換しただけでも商業銀行、投資銀行、コンサル、商社、IT系、経済官庁などがいらっしゃいました。

いろんな人がMBA目指して頑張ってるんだと改めて思いました。

席上ではTOEFLやGMATの話が良く出ているようでした。

みなさん苦戦されているようですが、大量の勉強や工夫で乗り切られているようでした。

予備校の情報なども飛び交っていました。僕と同じ2011年出願（2012年留学）予定の方ももう予備校に通われていたりして、自分の進捗状況が遅れ気味なのではないかと危機感を抱きました。

ということで、1月から予備校に通うことを決めました。

IELTSは自力で突破するつもりですが、GMAT・Applicationは予備校でしっかりお世話になろうと思います。

目標ステータスはIELT7.0、GMAT680です。

せっかく多くの方と知り合ったので、同じくMBAを志す方と刺激し合ってモチベーションを保ち、最後まで走り抜けたいと思います。

また、その後の自分の夢についてもシェアしていろいろお付き合いができればと思いました。
